On June 9-12, the University of Ottawa, in association with the Canadian Obesity Network (CON-RCO), the Merck Frosst/CIHR Research Chair in Obesity, Université Laval, and the University of Alberta hosted the 2nd Canadian Obesity Student Meeting. This conference was admirably championed and co-chaired by Angela Alberga and HALO Ph.D. candidate, Zach Ferraro.

The purpose of this student-run initiative was to bring together 200 of Canada’s top young researchers (Post doctoral, Ph.D. and Masters candidates) to learn about the latest findings from cutting-edge research on the causes, complications, treatment and prevention of obesity.
