Dr. Pat Longmuir is lead author on an important Scientific Statement from the American Heart Association, “Promotion of Physical Activity for Children and Adults With Congenital Heart Disease,” that was recently published ahead of print in Circulation.

Some of the highlights from the Statement include the following:

  • People born with a heart defect need physical activity.
  • Some irregular heart beat conditions may require activity restrictions but for most patients physical activity is unlimited.
