Former HALOite Dr. Cynthia Colapinto, who was recently awarded the 2014 Joseph De Koninck Prize, has also won the 2014 Governor General’s Gold Medal in Medicine, Health Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies in recognition of the most outstanding doctoral performance in these areas. The title of Dr. Colapinto’s thesis is, “Examining the folate status of Canadians: An analysis of the Canadian Health Measures Survey (CHMS) to assess and guide folic acid policies”, and was supervised by Dr. Mark Tremblay.
