Dr. Mark Tremblay was interviewed for a story, “Risky business: Is an over-protective approach to parenting causing more harm than good?” that recently ran in Smallish, a magazine published in the UK.

With more families opting for the safe haven of home to entertain their children, the irony is that we may be exposing them to even greater risks. “The likelihood of a cyber predator getting children is something in the region of 150-200 times higher than a real predator on the outside,” reveals Dr Tremblay, explaining that the risks go far beyond psychological. “Indoors, children have less physical ativity — which we know is bad — and excessive screen time with exposure to violence, sex and terrorism. And this is usually all unsupervised!”
