On Monday morning, CBC Ottawa Morning stopped by CHEO and Dr. Jean-Philippe Chaput took them on a walking meeting:

CBC Ottawa News also ran a story yesterday titled, “CHEO staff walk the talk with mobile meetings“.

From the story:

It’s a simple enough idea that boosts health and fitness, with the added bonus of breaking up long, monotonous meetings with fresh air and sunshine.

Instead of sitting in an office to hash out problems, why not hit the road to hold a walking meeting instead?

It’s a well-established practice at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario on Smyth Road in Ottawa, where staff and students have been walking and talking for some time (and even biking or running, on occasion).

Jean-Phillippe Chaput, an obesity expert and researcher at CHEO who also teaches at the University of Ottawa, helped set up the walking meeting program at CHEO.
