The Healthy Active Living and Obesity Research Group (HALO) along with the CHEO Foundation and bitHeads Inc. participated in the 2010 Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival (June 18-20). Despite being a rookie boat, the ‘CHEO FitHeads’ paddled their way to the finals on the second day in dramatic fashion – almost finishing in the wrong lane! In addition, our team jersey won 1st Runner Up for best logo design! Thank you to all who paddled and volunteered in this year’s Festival. HALO and the CHEO Foundation will be participating again in 2011 and 2012, as the CHEO Foundation is one of the Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation’s recipient charities. For anyone interested in participating with us next year, dry land training will start April 30, 2011!
