On April 10th, Dr. Katie Gunnell gave a presentation at the CHEO Research Institute Education Seminar Series. The title of her presentation was “Psychological mechanisms of change and their impact on physical activity and well-being: Practical implications and considerations for analyzing change” and the learning objectives were:

  1. Understand the theoretical mechanisms thought to be responsible for increasing well-being and engagement in health behaviours.
  2. Understand how motivation impacts physical activity engagement and well-being.
  3. Summarize research findings related to how psychological mechanisms influence activity and well-being over time
  4. Understand the importance of measurement and choice of quantitative analysis when examining behavior change and well-being.
