Biography

Emily is a first year masters student completing her Master of Science in Health: Science, Technology, and Policy at Carleton University. In 2022, she completed her Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences with a double concentration in Global Health and Disability & Chronic Illness, also at Carleton. In her undergraduate degree, she pursued a placement at CHEO in health equity, compiling training materials for post graduate medical students on social accountability, as well as researching if there is a connection between insurance status and loss-to-follow-up of patients at CHEO. She also worked on research with Dr. Paul Peters and a master’s student looking at oral health access in rural Ontario. She is looking forward to helping the HALO team with the creation of the 2024 ParticipACTION report card on physical activity for children and youth as it will further her interests in population and public health.
