Biography
River joined the HALO team in September 2022 as a Research Assistant. Prior to HALO, River completed an undergraduate Bachelor of Human Kinetics degree with a minor in psychology, at the University of Ottawa. He graduated in 2020. River then continued his education at the University of Ottawa for two more years to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Human Kinetics. His Master’s research focused on how National Sport Organizations are addressing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action for Sport through their safe sport policies. In addition, River also has many research interests in the fields of safe sport, physical activity and health, especially mental health for children and youth. River assists with all HALO projects including administration and other research related tasks. In his spare time, River enjoys running, hiking, swimming, and spending lots of time with friends and family.
