The Activity Begins in Childhood (ABC) trial is a research trial designed to increase physical activity and reduce sedentary behaviour for children enrolled in licensed daycares. We encourage children to engage in fun and energetic play such as brisk walking, skipping, and dancing.
The trial was created by the Healthy Active Living and Obesity research (HALO) group located at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and is supported by the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR).
A sample of licensed daycares in the National Capital Region has been invited to participate in the ABC trial.
If you require more information about this trial, please contact the Research Coordinators, Kimberly Grattan (kgrattan@cheo.on.ca) or Kasey Parker (kparker@cheo.on.ca) or both at (613)737-7600 x.4158.
