The Healthy Active Living and Obesity Research Group will host a discussion panel on strategies to make cycling safer in Canadian cities. The event will take place on Tuesday April 29th between 5:30 and 7:30 PM at the War Museum in downtown Ottawa. The objectives of this panel are: 1) to discuss the benefits of safety measures (including cycling infrastructure, helmets and traffic calming); 2) to present the perspectives of the city of Ottawa and a non-profit organization (8-80 cities) for promoting cycling and improving safety; and 3) to offer ample time for audience interaction and questions about safe cycling. The overarching objective of this event is to offer an open discussion on cycling safety, in a format that is accessible to community members. This event is made possible by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research’s Café Scientifique program
