Dr. Mark Tremblay was an international expert consultant for the new physical activity guidelines released today for the United Kingdom. The release generated significant media attention in Canada including an interview with Dr. Tremblay on the Global National News. The interest in Canada was specifically around the lack of physical activity and sedentary guidelines for children ages 0-5 years (see related U.K. recommendations for children who cannot walk yet) and children who are walking.

HALO researchers are working with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology on the development of evidence-informed Canadian physical activity and sedentary guidelines for children aged 0-5 years to be released in the spring of 2012.
