Current research interests include: i) cardiorespiratory fitness as a population health indicator; ii) health surveillance; iii) physical fitness; iv) social determinants of health; v) healthy public policy; vi) chronic disease prevention
Biography
Dr. Lang is an associate researcher with the Healthy Active Living and Obesity research group from the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute. He is also a Research Analyst with the Public Health Agency of Canada where he contributes to many projects in the area of cardiorespiratory fitness, positive mental health, and chronic disease prevention. Prior to these positions he completed a PhD in Population Health at the University of Ottawa under the supervision of Dr. Mark Tremblay. He also completed his MSc and HBK degrees at Lakehead University. Dr. Lang’s research interests are extensive, but his main research focus thus far has been using cardiorespiratory fitness as a population health indicator in children and youth.
