Joel completed his B.Sc. in kinesiology with specialization in sports performance at the University of Sherbrooke. During his bachelor’s degree, he had the opportunity to train the Canadian Forces, but also to work as a research assistant at the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke (CHUS) with a pediatric cardiologist. It is from various experiences like those that he has been able to forge his interest in the evaluation of the cardiorespiratory capacity of healthy and sick children. Having worked on reference values of the cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) in healthy children during his master’s degree, he is now ready to apply his knowledge in biostatistics and CPET for his Ph.D. Although this candidate has a passion for research, he spends most of his free time doing a variety of sports, training and walking his dogs.
