Kenya’s 2014 Report Card on the Physical Activity and Body Weight of Children and Youth was released by Dr.Vincent Onywera (a former visiting scholar to HALO and member of the KIDS-CAN Research Alliance) on Friday 4th April 2014 at 10:00 a.m at Kenyatta University, Kenya. The colorful ceremony was graced by Prof. Olive Mugenda, the Vice Chancellor of Kenyatta University, Dr. Evangeline Njoka Secretary General of the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO, Dr. Muthoni Gichu from Kenya’s Ministry of Health, Dr. Andanje Mwisukha the dean of the School of Applied Human Sciences at Kenyatta University.

The event was attended by over 250 people who represented various sectors both locally and internationally. These included professors, researchers, medical doctors, policy makers, graduate students, parents, teachers and children. The release of the report card coincided with the 2014 World Day for Physical Activity to be celebrated on Sunday 6th April 2014.
