BIOGRAPHY

Myranda Hawthorne completed her BSc Honours Degree in Biomedical Science at the Trent University in 2021, and is currently working on her MSc in Health: Science, Technology and Policy (HSTP) at Carleton University. Myranda has worked for the National Research Council (NRC) of Canada as a student research assistant on the PPE Decontamination Team throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and spent over three years volunteering at the Alzheimer’s Society in her hometown of Peterborough, ON. Myranda has been involved in organized sports for the majority of her life, primarily as competitive artistic swimmer and coach for the Kawartha Trent Synchro Club. She has a passion for biomedical and physiology research as well as pediatric healthcare and preventative medicine. In her free time, she enjoys running or biking outdoors, as well as spending time with family and friends.
