The U.S. Institute of Medicine recently convened a Committee on Fitness Measures and Health Outcomes in Youth to prepare a report leading to recommended measures of fitness for children and youth with evidence of a relationship with health outcomes. As part of their work, the Committee hosted a workshop on November 15 in Washington, D.C. where experts from around the world were invited to make presentations to assist the Committee with their deliberations. Dr. Mark Tremblay from HALO was invited to the workshop to make a presentation titled “Canadian Childhood Fitness Testing Lessons Learned”. The Committee’s report is due to the Institute of Medicine in February.
