Dr. Mark Tremblay was invited to attend the Canadian Parks Summit as an advocate for active outdoor play as a means of reconnecting children and youth with nature and the outdoors. The first-ever Canadian Parks Summit brought together invited leaders and experts, including land managers, service and retail providers, governmental affairs specialists, and program developers to examine strategic challenges facing parks, and discuss opportunities that could enhance their growth and impact at the national, provincial, territorial, regional, and municipal levels. The Summit was a collaboration between the Canadian Parks Council, Parks Canada, and the Parks Task Group of the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association, as well as other organizations.
